Port Manatee’s free open-air public tram tour experienced a 24% increase in visitors during its 2013/2014 season, offering more than 3000 visitors a behind the scenes look at the port. The tours include knowledgeable tour guides, fantastic views of Tampa bay and interesting port activities.
The popular tram tours are taking a summer break but will resume in October 2014. Tours begin at 10 a.m. every Monday and Wednesday, mid-October through May. Each tour goes through the developed property of the port with descriptions of the many businesses located at Port Manatee.
Security protocols require reservations at least one week in advance. Groups are limited to 75, with all reservations accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Tours often fill up weeks in advance.
When making reservations, participants need to provide the date of birth, email address and contact information for each person in their group. Photo identification is required at check-in.
