Palmetto, FLA – Port Manatee’s 2014 Official Directory was honored with an Award of Distinction in the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) Communications Awards competition.
Port Manatee annually publishes an Official Directory which informs about port facts and specifications, recent port developments and initiatives as well as news about new and existing tenants and customers. It gives readers an overview of the port’s assets, infrastructure, intermodal capabilities, and provides up-to-date information about current and future projects. It highlights port tenants and customers and includes a comprehensive business directory for companies doing business with the port.
The 2014 AAPA Communications Awards Program, which had a May 1 deadline for entries, utilized 40 professional public relations practitioners from the Washington, D.C. area to judge the 15 classifications of entries, ranging from advertisements and periodicals to videos and websites.
“We are very pleased to receive this award” said Carlos Buqueras, Port Manatee’s executive director. “It proves Port Manatee is using the right marketing tools to reinforce its role as a leading economic engine in Manatee County. “
The directory is available on Port Manatee’s website at www.portmanatee.com. A print copy can be ordered by contacting the port’s communications department.
Port Manatee is a multipurpose deepwater seaport at the entrance to Tampa Bay that serves bulk, breakbulk, container, heavylift, project and general cargo customers. The port generates more than $2.3 billion in annual economic impact for the local community, while supporting more than 24,000 jobs regionally, without levying ad-valorem taxes.
